How do the initial sessions proceed ?
It might be your first consultation with a professional, and that might be stressful. It's perfectly normal to have questions about how it will go.
Firstly, the initial sessions (3-4) are aimed at assessing your situation and factors that may impact your issue. These sessions also serve to begin building a trusting relationship.
Following the sexological assessment, we can discuss the objectives to work on based on your needs, as well as concrete methods that can be implemented.
The success of the process is not guaranteed. It's a journey in which you will need to invest yourself.

Is it covered by insurance?
You can confirm with your insurance policy;personal health or your employer if your insurance covers services provided by a professional from the Ordre des sexologues du Québec. Please note, the labels “psychotherapist”, “psychologist” or “social worker” cannot be used for the service offered by me. It is still possible to fill outthis form to add a request for coverage for sexology services from your employer.
If the costs are not covered by your insurance, they may be tax deductible as medical expenses with a receipt that will be sent to you after the session.
It's entirely possible to pursue parallel approaches, whether it's therapy with a psychologist or psychotherapist, or couple counseling. The nature of the interventions is quite different and could be beneficial and complementary.
Can I have counseling alongside another form of therapy ?

How often will the sessions take place ?
The frequency of follow-up sessions can vary depending on the individual's needs and over time. Generally, when starting therapy, it's recommended to have sessions weekly or bi-weekly initially, and then space them out later on. It's also possible to have occasional sessions. Of course, the frequency should be determined based on your budget and availability.
I'd be happy to discuss this further with you.
Payment can be made via bank transfer (Interac) or in cash (if you attend in person). Please note that the transaction will be processed after the session
